Eddie has partnered with the iconic ARTISTRY beauty brand to create
eight exclusive, limited-edition colourplay products.
Here, he reveals some of his makeup tips and tricks, and talks about
how his creative vision for colourplay became a reality:
Q. What’s the easiest way to go from day to night
A. A great product for instantly stepping up
your look is the Glow Eye Stick Shadow–
the pale gold shade and cream texture
are amazing. Apply to anywhere on the
face that candlelight would illuminate your
face: A tiny bit on your brow bone, ever so
slightly down the bridge of your nose, and
just a touch of it to the fullest part of your
And don’t stress out about getting it
in exactly the right place–it’s not about
precision, it’s about creating a hint of
Q. What was your inspiration for the new
A. I took a very light approach – I was going
for sweet, fun, and carefree. I wanted
these products to be multi-functional,
so with the Line and Shine, for example,
you have gorgeous eye shadow, liner, and
smudger all in one. And each product works
on different skin tones – these are truly
universal colours that everyone can enjoy.
Women are busier than ever these days,
we all know that – and they’re looking for
makeup that’s simple to use, with a feeling
of flirty, easygoing playfulness. And that’s
what this is: A collection for that woman
on the go, whether she has a super-active
lifestyle or just needs a little primping
throughout the day.
Q. What’s your favourite trend for the coming
A. The look I’m loving for 2010 is youthful,
polished, and luminous: Clean skin, maybe
a tiny bit of natural colour and gloss to the
lips, and a healthy glow for cheeks and
eyes. There’s a richness to it, a soft-spoken
luxury – you look fantastic without seeming
like you tried too hard.
Here’s another idea for upping the glamour:
Use the peachy powder shadow of the
Twilight Eye Line and Shine during the day,
and at night, add the purple eyeliner to the
upper lash line.
If you’re the sort of woman who already
wears colour and liner during the day,
work your liner into the lower lash line,
then smudge the colour out for a smokey
eye. The possibilities with the colourplay
products are endless.
Remember, the point is to have fun!
