Avon and Coty executed a letter of intent regarding a commercial
arrangement where Avon Brazil would market and sell select Coty
fragrances and ancillary products through Avon’s independent sales
representatives in Brazil.
Coty and Piaggio Group, the owner of the Vespa brand, announced
the formation of an exclusive partnership to create, develop and distribute
a signature duo of fragrances for men and women under the Vespa name.
The duo is expected to debut in May 2014. Additionally, Coty announced
a new partnership with singer and songwriter Enrique Iglesias to develop
his own line of signature fragrances. The House of Enrique Iglesias is
expected to release its first fragrance in the summer of 2014.
Fragrance Republ!c launched as a service for fragrance enthusiasts. Members receive an exclusive fragrance each month and are
encouraged to rate it, suggest names and offer insights in Fragrance
Republ!c’s online forum.
Sozio, Inc. opened a Canadian sales office in Montreal.
Givaudan’s first initiative in farming partnerships has been finalized
through the signature of a long-term, exclusive agreement with local
partner GaiaOne and Kebun Rimau SDN BHD in the Malaysian state of
Sabah, on the island of Borneo. The partners have committed to develop
sustainable plantations and local distillation of patchouli, an iconic
natural raw material for both fine fragrance and functional perfumery,
exclusively for Givaudan.
International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) announced the celebration
of its 125th anniversary year. The company is acknowledging the
anniversary year with the launch of a commemorative logo that reflects
IFF’s significant legacy, designed by an employee based in Singapore.
The formal celebrations will be kicked off by the board at an event in
IFF’s creative center in Hilversum, the Netherlands. This will be followed
by a series of activities for the balance of the year.
Women in Flavor & Fragrance Commerce (WFFC) announced
recipients of its 2014 WFFC scholarship awards. Sarah Warth is the
recipient of the 2014 Rita Flynn Memorial Fragrance Scholarship Award.
Warth is enrolled in a dual master’s program, one for business and
management at the University of Padua, Italy, the other for science and
technology at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines,
France. Warth also took unpaid internships at two top fragrance houses,
Givaudan and IFF. And Joanna Godyla, a cosmetics and fragrance
marketing student at the Fashion Institute of Technology, also was
recognized for her excellent academic achievements and contributions
to the fragrance industry.

a captivating energy. Notes for
this scent include rosewood,

limited edition iteration of
