RAW MATERIALS NOW ON THE MARKET
At this year’s In-cosmetics, Cognis and Laboratoires
Sérobiologiques (LS) presented a host of new ingredient solutions,
including a range of personal care ingredients for the creation of
green products, such as a fast-spreading emollient; a mild surfactant
blend for EO- and sulfate-free shampoos and shower gels; two types
of natural shea butters; and an economic wet wipe compound based
on a gentle solubilizer system combined with a natural biolipid and
moisturizer. New polymers also were featured—including a PEG/
EO-free cationic rheology control additive for hair conditioners and
skin care formulations. LS exhibited a botanical extract that offers
an adaptogenous approach to countering stress and signs of aging;
a skin-lightening active that protects the skin from UV damage;
and an extract of the leaves of an African tree that helps restore the
functionality of the structural molecules in the dermis for firmer,
more elastic skin. Additionally, Cognis and LS launched their “A
beauty adventure around the world” concept, which brings together
the expertise of different Cognis and LS formulators and helps the
manufacturers to serve the needs of consumers in specific regions.
